Gift of the G.A.B - July 2024
(Grants Admin Bulletin) |
Before you start: contact the Grants Front Door Portal. They'll get the right people together to talk to you about what you need.
Just a reminder. If you develop Grant Opportunity Guidelines (GOGs) in your program area, it is best practice NOT to publish these on the NIAA website! The portal for publishing grant opportunities is Grant Connect and is the Australian Government’s whole-of-government grants information system, which centralises the publication and reporting of Commonwealth grants in accordance with the CGRGs and the PGPA Rule. Publishing your GOGs on GrantConnect is a requirement under the CGRGs and is the point for applicants and their associates to download all documents relating to the opportunity. Oftentimes, GOGs require minor amendments, and these addenda can be quickly published on GrantConnect to advise potential applicants of the changes made. Publishing GOGs on the NIAA website may result in applicants relying on outdated information when preparing their applications! The Grant Services Branch is responsible for the publication of all GOGs, so reach out if you need something published and we’ll happily do that for you!
2023-24 SCSO Indexation – Acquittal Process The Acquittal process for 2023-24 has been finalised and circulated to GMU Directors. A copy will be made available on the SCSO page on the Grants Administration Manual.

What is FUSION? FUSION is an online data-mart used to support the management of grants in the National Indigenous Australians Agency (NIAA).
Who is it for? Program/policy teams, engagement officers and anyone that has some interaction with grants!
How do I get access to FUSION? This can be done through the FUSION/Qlik Access Request on the Service Portal.
Working within FUSION You can search for FUSION via the Grants Front Door portal where you will find a range of Self-Service support and resources to assist you in navigating your way around, including:
Why is FUSION Helpful? For instance, if you have a question, example: Have you ever wondered how long your provider has been receiving grants? Answer: There is no need to send your enquiry to the data team you can just check FUSION How long have we been funding the particular organisation? Search your organisation and the information will be there.
Being able to effectively search and filter the contents of FUSION is a skill that will assist you to find the appropriate records for your daily business quickly and easily.
All resources are available on
Site Visit Assessment (SVA) in FUSION
Site visits are scheduled milestones and a control applied to grant activities with an Activity Risk Assessment (ARA) level of medium, high or extreme. They can also be conducted at any time for an activity in response to a risk event or condition that causes a risk to occur, regardless of level. The SVA Module is in FUSION for Regional Engagement Officers who work in close collaboration with the Agreement Manager from the Grants Management Unit (GMU) to plan the visit. A site visit is a two-way exchange of information. It provides an opportunity for Engagement Officers to seek additional information relating to a grant activity and to check the accuracy of information provided in performance reports. It is also an opportunity for a Provider to ask questions of NIAA, and for NIAA to provide feedback and Agency updates. FUSION Access can be requested through the Service Portal.
