Email to share from Quantam Branch, Department of Industry, Science and Resources: Up to $36 million in funding to improve life expectancy, health outcomes and access to health technology for First Nations peoples The Australian Government has launched Round 2 of the Critical Technologies Challenge Program (CTCP) – calling for innovative quantum technology solutions that improve life expectancy, health outcomes and access to health technology for First Nations peoples.

GALAMBANY: Our Ways of Working What’s new with the Optimising Grant Opportunity (OGA) Project? Draft grant agreements must now be included when new and revised Grant Opportunity Guidelines (GOGs) are published on GrantConnect. A news article regarding this requirement has been published on the Intranet. For more information on the OGA, see: Galambany: Our ways of working - NIAA Intranet A Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) is currently being developed on the process for developing and seeking approval of the draft grant agreement that will be published with the GOGs on GrantConnect. An update on when this SOP has been completed will be included in a future issue of Gift of the GAB.
Grants Facts - Did You Know? This section provides an opportunity to highlight important or little-known grant-related facts or points of interest.
Can the NIAA provide grant funding to other Commonwealth entities? This will depend on the type of Commonwealth entity. • Non-corporate Commonwealth entities – the NIAA cannot provide grant funding to these entities. This includes central agencies and those responsible for implementing major Government policy (i.e. Department of Education and Department of Health). The CGRPs state a ‘grant is an agreement … under which relevant money … is to be paid to a grantee other than the Commonwealth’ (section 2.3). • Corporate Commonwealth entities – the NIAA can provide grant funding to these entities, which includes some Land Councils. These entities have separate legal personalities from the Commonwealth and have enabling legislation that establishes the scope of their activities and a multi-member accountable authority (such as a board of directors).
